On Saturday 13th September, the brilliant team at Bunzl Safety & Workwear Solutions took part in an impressive 15-mile walk from their offices in Wednesbury to Sunfield Garden School and Children’s Home in Clent.
The walk was to raise funds for the development of Sunfield’s therapeutic walled garden—a space that will provide our pupils with hands-on outdoor learning experiences. The garden will also form part of Sunfield’s work with their local community, with produce grown on site being sold in Sunfield’s community shop.
Despite a mix of sunshine and heavy rain, the team pressed on and were warmly welcomed by Sarah Whittington, Executive Principal of Sunfield. They were then given a tour of the newly developed barns and classrooms and treated to some delicious organic refreshments.
Sarah commented:
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome the Bunzl Safety & Workwear Solutions team to Sunfield after their incredible 15-mile walk. Their commitment and generosity mean so much to us. The funds raised will directly support the development of our biodynamic walled garden—a space designed to nurture well-being, independence, and hands-on learning for our students.
It was a real pleasure to be joined by one of our young people, Eve, and her family who were visiting that day. Eve confidently spoke to the Bunzl team all about Sunfield, the farm and the walled garden. Her enthusiasm and pride in Sunfield were truly inspiring and gave everyone a meaningful insight into the impact this project will have.
Thank you to Bunzl for walking with purpose and helping us grow something truly special.”
