With the new academic year in full swing our provisions across the Trust have had the pleasure of welcoming new students, including J who has recently joined Coleg Plas Dwbl, Pembrokeshire. Drama tutor Bobbi has had the pleasure of getting to know J over the past several weeks.
During this time, J has attended his first drama session, where he demonstrated fantastic engagement from the start .He has shown a keen interest in the story of Michaelmas and was eager to learn about the upcoming festival that the college put on for the students to attend.
While reading through the script for the short play “The Tale of St. Michael and the Dragon Shadows”, J contributed numerous insightful script changes. This showcased an impressive command of vocabulary; one standout example was his description of the dragon as “a symbolic manifestation of everything the people feared.”
J has chosen to take on the role of the dragon and has already displayed strong acting skills. He truly embodies his character during rehearsals and is beginning to understand the importance of stepping out of character once the session concludes—a valuable aspect of dramatic practice.
Tutor Bobbi has enjoyed witnessing the creativity and enthusiasm J brings to the group.
